The longest restaurant table in the world

El Campello, Alicante province, the longest restaurant table in the world. More than 2,000 people sat down to dinner jointly in El Campello on Saturday night. A restaurant table measuring a whopping 1.2 kilometres in length has entered the Guinness Book of Records.

There are many local restaurants took part in the record-breaking attempt, when each establishment was responsible for setting out and putting down the tables they provided, and helping the meals to their customers.

A legal representative was presented at the event once everyone was seated and tucking in, in order to confirm that the table’s length – 1,258 metres – had in fact smashed a world record held for two years by a restaurant in Vienna. In fact, it was made up of tables from at least 60 different restaurants in El Campello (Alicante) assembled in a line nearly a mile long.

Even though its length every single seat was occupied during the slap-up meal thrown on by the restaurants taking part in the zany event on Saturday night. Each eatery that had contributed tables was allowed to decorate these however they wished, use their own staff to wait on the diners and serve up the dishes offered on their own menus.

In 2007, a public meal was detained with tables fitted together in a line measuring 1,176 metres.
