Most People with Team Colours Painted on Face

A new Guinness World Record for the most people with
team colours painted on the face was established at the
Stade de France, Paris, on Saturday 7 June 2008. The
event saw 29,688 rugby fans painted in the Stade
Français CASG Paris Rugby Club colours - blue and
pink. The record attempt was in collaboration with
Fanbrush face-paints, the Stade Français CASG Paris
and the Stade de France.

Pierre Maillé, founder of the sport fans’ make-up brand Fanbrush, organised an army of 112 make-up artists, 36 judges to verify and 25 photographers with the whole event being supervised by Justine Bourdariat, Guinness World Records adjudicator who came from London especially for this event.

The event went fantastically well with the crowd getting their faces painted as they entered the Stade de France complex in Saint-Denis, before the TOP 14 tournament match between Stade Français Paris and Biarritz Olympique. The face-painting began at 1pm and continued solidly until 3pm. It involved painting men and women, boys and girls from all ages and even the VIPs, all of whom were determined to reach the minimum of 5,000 painted faces, set by the previous Guinness World Record holders.

After a huge effort by all of the participants and several hours of furious work, nearly half of the stadium crowd had their faces painted in time for the kick-off. At the end of the match, Pierre Mailléand representatives from Stade Français and the Stade de France were awarded the record by Ms. Bourdairat, Guinness World Records adjudicator, in front of a cheering crowd.
