World’s shortest railway

The world’s shortest railway, Angels Flight, reopened in Los Angeles after being out of service for nine years. The first Angels Flight operated from 1901. The service was closed for redeveloping the location in 1969. It was reopened in 1996 and had to be closed again in 2001 after a fatal accident. The cost of a one-way ride is 24 cents.
People watch as the Angels Flight Railway resumes ferrying passengers up and down Bunker Hill in downtown Los Angeles Monday last. Angel's Flight, has been dubbed 'the shortest railway in the world,' and the train still features the original cars from 1901.
