Guinness World Records Starts Community Website

Guinness World Records has added an online community to its website to enhance interactivity and customisation for record holders and Guinness World Records fans. The new community is accessible via the Guinness home page.

The Guinness Word Records website receives more than 11 million visitors a year and numerous record claims each year. Through the new site, record enthusiasts can view and share new record attempts as they are submitted, without waiting for the annual publication. Visitors to the site, record holders, record aspirers and fans around the world, can post their videos, audio, photos and stories on the site.

The community is expected to enable current record holders to showcase their talents and aspiring record breakers to get recognised. Visitors can create their own profile page, read and write blog entries and upload media. As well as providing a platform for the existing and new record breakers and fans, the new site offers a forum to identify new record-breaking talent.
