A brand new ‘Mega-mall’ that covers an area of 1.35 million square metre is being set up at Wuxi, Jiangsu Province of China.
The government is fully supporting this development and the construction is expected to be completed by 2007.
This mall will be equivalent to the area of 40 commercial centres and will be the biggest apparel and textile centre in the world with around 20000-30000 traders.
The mall will also house a five-star and three-star hotel, a conference and exhibition centre, logistics centre, an 'International Fashion Design Centre’ and also a special service centre for international customers.
It will fulfill the ever-increasing Chinese demand for branded apparels.
Statistics show that apparel consumption in China reached RMB 378.2 billion or US $44.9 billion in 2004 and went up 21.6 percent in the first half of 2005.
