Thousands of Palestinian refugee kids on Thursday broke their own world record for second time, freeing the number of colorful kites flown simultaneously.
7,202 children flew colorful kites at a sprawling sandy beach, unofficially doubling the previous record in the event organized by the United Nations Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA) one week after 7,203 Gaza refugee children set a new world record for dribbling basketballs.
A delighted UNRWA Gaza Director, John Ging said on website, “We still have to await final confirmation from the Guinness Book of World Records, but according to our figures the kids have done it, what an amazing achievement, two world records in a week.”
The figure far surpassed the previous mass kite-flying record of 3,000 which was set last year by the Palestinian children in the Gaza.
