Colima, Mexico. Left foot, red! Right hand, green! Right foot, yellow! Left hand, blue!What might sound like a magic potion chant was actually part of Colegio Campoverde’s exciting celebration, after earning a Guinness World Record for creating the largest Twister board. The board covered almost the entire area of the school’s three full-size outdoor basketball courts. In total, the school’s Twister board spanned an impressive 39.9 metres (130 ft 11 in) in length by 25.6 metres (84 ft 1 in) in width. Hundreds students from Colegio Campoverde jumped, played and laughed while helping their school earn the new record title.
Danny Girton, Guinness World Records adjudicator, was on hand on the day to present Colegio Campoverde’s founding director, Mr. Manuel Costa Lavín with a certificate commemorating this achievement for both himself and all his students.In recognition of Colegio Campoverde’s many educational and civic accomplishments, the school has been awarded numerous prestigious awards, including most recently: the “Ibero-American Prize of Quality 2007”, presented to the school by Chilean president Michelle Bachelet; as well as the “National Prize of Quality 2005”, awarded to the school by Mexico’s previous president, Vicente Fox.
