Old tree-house near Udaipur, Rajasthan in Limca Book Record

four-year-old tree-house near Udaipur in Rajasthan was recently included in the Limca Book of Records. Surprisingly the tree-house has not been designed by any architect or civil engineer, but has been built by an artisan of Surat who is only a seventh class pass.

Mohan Mistry, who has been living at Asha nagar in Udhna for last 24 years, originally belongs to Rama village in Udaipur. The tree-house, built around a 65-year-old mango tree, was built four years ago, and is owned by Udaipur businessman KP Singh.

Giving details about the unique house, Mistry says, "KP Singh wanted a tree-house without causing any damage to the tree. He spoke to many engineers, but each of them opined that it was not possible to build a tree-house without chopping off at-least some branches."

After being unsuccessful for many months, Singh came in touch with Mistry's nephew, a fifth pass, who agreed to build the unique tree-house."It was through my nephew, that I got involved in the construction of the tree-house project," Mistry said.
