Boston Singles Seek Everlasting Love for Valentine's Day by Attempting World Record for the Longest Blind Date
Date.com, Foxwoods and KISS 108 FM Partner to Send Two Lucky Singles on the Longest Blind Date of Their Lives
In celebration of Valentine's Day, Date.com, one of the leading online dating services, along with Foxwoods Resort Casino and KISS 108 FM, became the ultimate matchmakers as they paired up one lucky couple on a date they will never forget. On Monday, February 13th, the clock started ticking down as two of Beantown's singles attempt to set the World Record for the World's Longest Blind Date.
The blind date began on KISS-108 FM when 28 year old Keith Santarelli, a PH.D. student at MIT, and Tara Fortunato, a 23 year old who works at a local nonprofit child welfare organization, met for the first time. The daters then proceeded to Boston's romantic Frog Pond for a get-to-know-you skating session, a first for both singles who have never been on skates before. The anticipated love fest will continue with a variety of indulgent and heart-pounding activities such as massages, private poker lessons, a candlelit dinner and more at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT. Together, the pair have pledged to try to set the world record at 48 hours!
"People seem to have a very black-and-white way of thinking when it comes to dating - they think they're either going to fall madly in love at first sight or else the person's not for them," says Anna David, Relationship Advisor for Date.com. "Blind dates tend to bring that attitude out in us even more, which is why they sometimes don't last past the appetizers. This challenge changes the rules up a bit; it prompts the participants to push past the first impression stage. I'm excited to see what happens then."
More than a hundred contestants entered for a chance to win the date during live segments on Boston's KISS 108FM "Matty in the Morning" radio show. The winning couple will receive prizes including two round trip tickets to Miami Beach with hotel accommodations, courtesy of Date.com. The two record breaking participants will also receive lifetime memberships to Date.com, while finalists will receive a free one year membership to the online dating website.
